E.J. Alleman, resident of St. James, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 79 and a native of Donaldsonville. E.J. worked as an Electrician’s Helper at St. James Sugar (CO-OP) until his retirement. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. During his high school career he was a member of the Louisiana All State High Football team as a guard for 2 years and a member of the 1954 Donaldsonville High School State Champion Football Team. He enjoyed hunting, dancing, and watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and LSU. E.J. is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Annette and Jim Endler, Jacinta and Lon Hays; son Anthony; sons and daughters- in-law Eno Jr. and Lisa, David and Amelia, Scott and Lisa; sister, Inez Alleman Daigle; nine grandchildren, Stewart, Joshua, Dillon, Logan, Meggie, Eleni, Dane, Abigail and Natalie; and numerous nieces and one nephew.

LAMBERT

Ernest “Bud” Joseph Lambert, Jr. died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA at the age of 91. Born in College Point, Convent, LA, son of the late Ernest A. Lambert, Sr. and Myrtie Kliebert Lambert, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Myrtis Z. Lambert; his second wife Annabelle Faucheux Lambert; and his sisters, Ruth Mae Lambert, Evelyn Deroche (Allen), and Iris McClung (Lewis). He is survived by his brother, Lloyd Lambert (Mary); his sister, Grace Louque (Lincoln); his three children, Wayne Lambert (Karen), Sharon Louque (Chris), and Regaina Forsythe (Emery); 11 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren, and 1great-great grandchild. During his time here on earth, Ernest served in the United States Navy during World War II, presided as a captain of the Gramercy Fire Department, and was a lifelong member and officer of the St. James Boat Club.

BECNEL

Charles Becnel passed on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 66. He was born and raised in Paulina and a resident of Garyville. Beloved husband of Marian Frangella Becnel. Father of Tammy Gan (Steaven) and Heidi Morici (Brad). Like a father to John Logarbo. Grandfather to Destiny and Wayne Gan and Derrick and Bailey Morici. Son of the late Joseph O. Becnel and Rita Weber Becnel. Brother of Jerry Becnel, Jocelynn Accordo (Dale), Rose McClung and the late Richard Becnel (Masami). Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Paula and Drew Madere, Carmine and Michelle Frangella; his nephew, Chad Becnel (Annette); a host of nieces and nephews; family, friends and neighbors. Charles served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served his community for 32 years with St. James Parish and St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s office where he retired in 2006. Most recently he was employed with Whelan Security. He was a people person who loved to lend a helping hand when needed.

Daniel Antoine Laroze, age

Daniel Antoine Laroze, age 87, passed away on June 10, 2018. He now rejoins his late wife, Rowena Roussel Laroze, in their heavenly home. He is survived by his children; Danielle Stewart (George), Darren Laroze, Tammy Martin (Jerry) and Anita Michel (David), his grandchildren; Matthew and Daniel Stewart, Cody Martin, Traci Martin Hymel, Holly Martin Millet, Adam, Courtney and Maegan Michel as well as six greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Philomene Laroze and his siblings; Marie Louise Schexnayder, Laurence Schexnayder, Therese Laroze and Gerald Laroze. Dan was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force, where he served for four years during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time in the garden, picking and peeling pecans, playing cards and sight-seeing. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation at St.

Mildred Brignac Lear passed away on June 11, 2018. She is survived by her children; Robert “Bobby” Lear (Kay), Eric Lear (Melinda), Ronald “Ronnie” Lear (Catherine), Chris “Cobra” Lear (girlfriend Mary), Jason “Link” Lear (girlfriend Charlotte) and Mary Lear, 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Hubert Brignac, Melvin Brignac, and Joyce Cazenave, her daughter-in-laws; Nancy Sick and Kathy Lear. She is preceded in death by her husband Onezime Lear, her children; Thomas Lear, Wayne “Smokey” Lear and Alice Lear Roussel (the late Ernie Roussel), her parents, Norman and Beatrice Brignac and her siblings; Norman Brignac Jr., Carolyn Grob and Norris Brignac. Mildred was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. She always looked forward to her time that she spent in the Adoration Chapel.

Zelma J. Vicknair

Zelma J. Vicknair, age 94, passed away on June 12, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia V. Carter (Eugene) son, Phillip M. Vicknair, Sr. (Jo Ann), and sister, Mary Lee Impastato. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Vicknair; parents, Julius and Pauline Troxler Jacob. (She was raised by Ernest and Margaret Landry); brothers, Julius “Jake” Jacob, Jr., and Joseph “Lee” Jacob. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott David Carter, Amanda Martinez (Sean), Phillip M. Vicknair, Jr. (Shannon), Jake Robert Vicknair (Kaini), and Trichelle Rauch (Darrel) as well as greatgrandchildren: Emily and Evan Martinez, Collin Vicknair, Breyla and Logan D’Antoni, Remi Vicknair, Westin and Jaidyn Ferguson, Ty Rauch and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation in her honor was on Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment in the church cemetery.

Andrew "Burt" Cashio

Andrew "Burt" Cashio was a lifelong resident of St. John Parish. He was called to his Heavenly Home on June 16, 2018. He was born in Lions in June of 1939, but was a resident of Garyville. Burt married the love of his life, his wife, Joyce Stein, in September of 1962. He will be truly missed by his family. Burt was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Andrew "Bebe" Cashio and Lillie Mae Millet Cashio, as well as his sister June Madere (Burton). Burt is survived by a very large, loving family including his wife of 55 years, Joyce Stein Cashio, his children: Terrilyn Sanford (Chuck), Jeffrey Cashio (Gwen), and Brigitte Price; Grandchildren: Erika Cashio, Andrew Sanford, Lauren Price Kennard, Jessica Sanford and Marissa Price; Greatgrandchildren: Gianna Grace Kennard and Mia Angelle Chilton. His brothers and sisters: David (Cheryl), Curtis (Nancy) Kathleen Weber (Phillip, deceased), Bruce (Jeanette), Harold (Chesley), Lillie Mae (Kirt), Michael "Petey" (Theresa).

Gayle P. Borne

Gayle P. Borne, known as “BaBorne” to many and as Paw Paw to a special few, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the age of 79. He was a resident of Gramercy and a native of Paulina. He is the beloved husband of Marie Guillot Borne for 56 years, his children Debie Zeringue (Jonathan) and Tessa Kinler. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Corey Zeringue, Chelsey Jenkins, Skyler Hoppe, and Presley Roussel as well as 2 great-grandchildren; Kynli and Kylah Jenkins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dora Borne; brother, Edward Borne, Jr. and sister, Shirlie Troxclair and 1 granddaughter, Katie Kinler. He retired from Kaiser Alumina after 33 years of employment, and was a member of the St. James Boat Club. A memorial visitation in his honor will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Catholic Memorial Mass.

Penny Boudreaux Ancale

Penny Boudreaux Ancale, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2018. She is a native and resident of LaPlace, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Angele Ancale and companion Alfred Adams; sister, Dolly Ocmond (Wilbert), nephew, Brandon Ocmond (Christie); niece, Raina Ocmond, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews as well as a sister-in-law Melissa A. VanHorn (Tim). She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ancale, Jr.; parents Sylvain and Evna Duhe Boudreaux; mother-in-law, Clara Vicknair Ancale and father-in-law, Harry F. Ancale, Sr. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ashton Manor and Lakeside Hospice for their loving care and compassion. A visitation in her honor will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA is in charge of the arrangements.

James Anthony

James Anthony, was born on February 6, 1944 and passed away on May 30, 2018. He is a native of Portland, Oregon and a resident of LaPlace. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Millicent “Mitzi” Jantzen Anthony; his children, Gretchen Benoit (Randy), Leigh McMath (Jason), and Victor Wall (Kasey). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jade, Amber, Austin, Angelle, Derrick, Caleb, Joshua, McRae, Owen, Parker, Camille, and Eli as well as great-grandchildren: Jada, Alyah, Levi, Ella, and Lily. James attended Southeastern and UNO Universities. He served in the United States Army as a SGT. in Company D of the 20th Special Forces Group. He was a life time salesman of industrial and medical supplies. A visitation in his honor was on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumed at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a religious service.
