Marvin Maurice Roussel, age 79, was born on September 27, 1936 and passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. He is a native and lifelong resident of Gramercy, LA. He is survived by daughters: Lona Dunn (Sidney), Christine Zeller (Terry), Marilyn Louviere (Charlie), Bonnie Hymel (Ellis), Patricia Landry (Woody); companion and friend, Nannette Berthelot; sisters: Betty Vicknair, Judy Madere, and brother, Gerald Roussel. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amicar and Mercedes Bourgeois Roussel; wife, Iris Accardo; son, Marvin Roussel, Jr., siblings: Gertrude Petit, Florence Roussel, Andrew Roussel, Allen (Bootsie) Roussel, Truly Roussel, and Larry Roussel. Visitation was on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 5:00 p.m.

Whelmon Roosevelt Armont, a native of Paulina and a resident of Lutcher, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, at 8:18 P.M., on Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was 82. Survived by his wife, Ruby Gordon Armont; daughters: Constance Williams and Arlette Armont; a son: Darryl (Lisa) Armont; sisters: Donna Foley and Naomi Morris; a brother, Clarence (Ethel) Armont; brothers-in-law: Gary (Veronica) Gordon, Percy (Janice) Gordon and Robert (Rosemary) Gordon, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents: Whelmon Armont and Augustine Kennard Armont; a son, Dale Armont; three sisters: Justina Watkins, Edna Clayton and Carrie Armont; two brothers: Kirby and Archie Armont; a brother-in-law, Harold Gordon and a sister-in-law, Rudy Gordon. Visiting was at King Solomon Baptist Church, 2385 N. Courseault Street, Lutcher, LA on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 9:30 A.M.

Helen G. Alexander, age 90, was born on May 26, 1925 and passed away on October 8, 2015. She was a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Gramercy, LA. She is survived by her son Mark Alexander (Jane); Granddaughter Katy Bordelon (Matt); Grandsons Nick and Jeffrey Heald; and caregiver Pat Todd. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Alexander and her daughter, Rhonda Heald. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy on Saturday, October 10, 2015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Wanda Denise Joshua, God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to me”. Wanda passed on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Wanda is survived by her parents, David and Joann Albert Joshua; her son, Josef Albert Bell; 2 sisters, Bonnie Joshua Haydel of St. James, LA and Marcia Joshua of LaPlace, LA; niece, Brooklyn Haydel; nephew, Myles David Haydel of St. James, LA and many relatives, co-workers and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiah Brown; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Corrine Albert and paternal grandparents, Namon, Sr. and Florence Joshua. Wanda was a 1979 graduate of St. James High School and a 1988 graduate of Westside Vocational Technical School as a licensed practical nurse. Wanda had a passion to care for the elderly and was employed at several elderly facilities in the area. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St.
