Charles J. Boe

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Charles J. Boe, age 80, was born on August 5, 1935 and passed away on February 2, 2016. He was a native of Garyville, LA and a resident of Lutcher, LA. He is survived by his wife, Lois Hymel Boe; sons Brent Boe (Ali), Brian Boe (Denise); daughters Angela Lambert (Wade), and Debra Martin (Jared “Butsy”); brother Floyd Boe and favorite caregiver Utica McGee. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Heidi Poche (Jason), Brooke Boe, Maci Boe, Carli Lambert, Radyn Boe, Kent Boe and step grandchildren Celeste Martin, Missy Martin, and Jill Donaldson (Derin); as well as great-grandchildren Leia Poche, Jaxon Poche, Jacob Donaldson, and Kennedy Donaldson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Boe and Antoinette Leroux and grandchildren, Angel Lambert, Grace Hanson, and Ella Donaldson.

CHAUVIN

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. On February 2, 2016 the angels escorted Claude on his final journey home at the age of 58. Claude was a resident of Lutcher and a 35 year employee of Motiva Enterprises in Convent. He is survived by his brother, Harold G. Chauvin; his niece and godchild Paige and his nephew Ryan. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold L. Chauvin and his mother Theresa (Miss Tee) Aubert. Visitation was on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resumed on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church in Gramercy from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina, LA. ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES was in charge of the arrangements.

Lowell Edward “Billy” Narcisse

Lowell Edward “Billy” Narcisse, Sr., age 47, a native and resident of Vacherie, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Visiting was held from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Vacherie. Burial in the church cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Jaurelle, Lorieal, Lyric, Lowell Jr., and Lavell Narcisse, whom he shared with his former wife Stacy Jasmin-Narcisse; grandchildren, Jayden White and Ma’Lajah Narcisse; parents, Molly (Jerome) Lewis and Rev Eddie Narcisse, Sr.

Alice Tabor

Alice Tabor, 86, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Alice was a giver to many. She always made sure everyone was fed and had what they needed. Every celebration took place at her house. She retired after many years of service from the ASCS office in Donaldsonville and Convent. She is survived by two nephews whom she raised; Alferd and wife, Kristi and Adrian Hymel; two grandchildren, Linli and Logan Hymel, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Philip “Sarge” Tabor; her parents, Marie Alice Zeringue and Joseph Lovincy Waguespack; five sisters, Edvige, Marie, Agnes, Edith, and Elise; four brothers, Marion, Sylvester Sr., Antoine, and Cyril Sr. Visitation was held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie. Interment followed in church cemetery.

Alyse Hope Volion

Alyse Hope Volion, born April 17, 2014, passed away on January 5, 2016. She was a native and resident of Paulina, LA. She is survived by her parents, Dustin and Casey Brignac Volion; her sisters, Olivia Grace and Ella Faith Volion; grandparents: Steven & Stephanie Brignac, Don and Rhonda James, and Lawrence & Dorothy Volion. Great-grandparents: Leroy and Delores Brock, and Ralph Anderson as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grand parents: Ray and Beverly Badeaux, Patrick and Ruth Brignac, and Lawrence and Virgie Volion. Visitation was at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Baldrick’s Foundation or St. Peter Chanel School Foundation. Dudley Eugene Detillier

Dudley Eugene Detillier, a resident of Gramercy, LA passed away on January 8, 2016 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veteran’s Home in Reserve, LA. He was 89 years old, born on October 1, 1926. He served his country in the Army of the United States in Yokohama, Japan and the Philippine Islands from 1945 through 1946; was a past Alderman for the Town of Gramercy; a member of the Gramercy Volunteer Fire Department; a member of VFW Post 5852 and was a retiree from Dupont. He was a loving father and grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Gloria Roussel Detillier; three children: Kerwick “Speedy” Detillier and wife Minnie; Peggy D. Vicknair and husband Carl-Lee; and Lynette D. Beall and husband Bob; a sister, Elsie D. Levet and husband John as well as 7 grandchildren: Karey, Sherry, Tara, Lane, Brandy, Brandon, and Jason and 8 great-grandchildren.

Dolores M. Melancon Didier (“Aunt Dee”), age 91, joined her loving husband, Joseph T. Didier in Heaven on January 7, 2016. She is survived by her sister Gayle DeRoche (Sheffard “Butch”), sisters-in-law, Elsie Melancon and Marian Melancon and her special caregivers; Cynthia Deslattes, Cheryl Waguespack and Brian Waguespack. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; Lawrence S. Melancon, Sr., and Agnes Luquette Melancon, and her siblings; Lawrence S. Melancon, Jr., Norma Lousteau (Onell, Sr.), Thelma Marse (Tommy, Sr.), and James A. Melancon, Sr. A long-time member and Sunshine Girl for the AARP. Her hobbies included reading and crafts, and praying to the Blessed Mother. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Gramercy, LA on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at St.
