Marvin Maurice Roussel, age 79, was born on September 27, 1936 and passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. He is a native and lifelong resident of Gramercy, LA. He is survived by daughters: Lona Dunn (Sidney), Christine Zeller (Terry), Marilyn Louviere (Charlie), Bonnie Hymel (Ellis), Patricia Landry (Woody); companion and friend, Nannette Berthelot; sisters: Betty Vicknair, Judy Madere, and brother, Gerald Roussel. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amicar and Mercedes Bourgeois Roussel; wife, Iris Accardo; son, Marvin Roussel, Jr., siblings: Gertrude Petit, Florence Roussel, Andrew Roussel, Allen (Bootsie) Roussel, Truly Roussel, and Larry Roussel. Visitation was on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resumed at the funeral home on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy at 11:00 a.m. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, LA.
