ARMONT

Whelmon Roosevelt Armont, a native of Paulina and a resident of Lutcher, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, at 8:18 P.M., on Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was 82. Survived by his wife, Ruby Gordon Armont; daughters: Constance Williams and Arlette Armont; a son: Darryl (Lisa) Armont; sisters: Donna Foley and Naomi Morris; a brother, Clarence (Ethel) Armont; brothers-in-law: Gary (Veronica) Gordon, Percy (Janice) Gordon and Robert (Rosemary) Gordon, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents: Whelmon Armont and Augustine Kennard Armont; a son, Dale Armont; three sisters: Justina Watkins, Edna Clayton and Carrie Armont; two brothers: Kirby and Archie Armont; a brother-in-law, Harold Gordon and a sister-in-law, Rudy Gordon. Visiting was at King Solomon Baptist Church, 2385 N. Courseault Street, Lutcher, LA on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 9:30 A.M. until religious services at 11:00 A.M. conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Scott. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Paulina, LA.
