O’Neil Joseph Rome

O’Neil Joseph Rome, 87, a native and resident of Vacherie, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He is survived by his children, Connie R. Marse (Thomas Marse, Jr.), Frances R. DesOrmeaux, Neil Rome (Maureen Becnel Rome), and Donnie Rome (Donna Boudreaux Rome); one sister, Pearl R. Scioneaux; 7 grandchildren, Heather Marse Ordoyne, Hollie Marse Folse, Thomas DesOrmeaux, Jr., Ginger DesOrmeaux Delatte, Heidi Rome Trosclair, Allie Rome Scioneaux, and Ashley Marse Becnel; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dempster Rome; parents, Arsene J. Rome and Annette Stein Rome; one sister, Neva R. Schexnayder; and one brother, Lester Rome. O’Neil proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired from Avondale Shipyards after 40 years. Once retired he enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

James Samuel Jones, Jr.

Mr. James Samuel "Sam" Jones, Jr. age 91, of Centre, AL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 22, 2017. Funeral services were held at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Centre, AL. The Rev. Larry Garrard, the Rev. Ricky Pollard and the Rev. Douglas Ford officiated the Graveside Service and Interment that followed at the Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden, directed by Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Mr. Jones was a minister for seventyseven years and preached the gospel in many states and several countries. He was the pastor of several churches and spent eleven years as an evangelist / missionary. Most of his ministry was spent as pastor of First Baptist Church in Gramercy, LA. He served as pastor from 1952-1964, 1971- 1985 and 1996-2008 for a total of 38 years. After moving to Centre, AL Bro. Sam was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr.

Olga Marie Faucheux Dufresne

Olga Marie Faucheux Dufresne, a native and lifelong resident of Wallace (Vacherie) Louisiana, passed away on December 21, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born on June 9, 1924. Olga was a devoted daughter and sister, a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. From her earliest days, Olga was active and devout in her Catholic Faith and fully committed to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary; she was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Philip, No. 1504. She is remembered for her sewing and cooking and years of volunteer work at St. Philip Catholic Church, as well as her generosity of spirit.

Joy B. Kramer was born on February 17, 1954 and passed away on December 17, 2017 at the age of 63. She is survived by her devoted husband, John W. Kramer, Jr., her Mother, Vivian L. Borne and Mother-in-law Elma Kramer Simoneaux; three stepdaughters: Kimberly Nelson, Deborah Valin, Amy Miller and their families. She is also survived by her sister, Sheila Bourgeois and husband Bruce and her nieces, Angela Vincent and husband Chris, Ashley Simon and husband Keith and their daughters, as well as close friend Cheryl Deville and many other special friends of the “Beginning Experience” group. She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice O. Borne, 1st husband James Melancon (her 1st love for whom she retained a special love for his family). Joy was a very loving and giving soul who tried to help everyone. Joy made many friends over the years throughout Southeast Louisiana working for First American Bank. Beverly Rome St. Pierre

Beverly Rome St. Pierre passed away peacefully on December, 17 2017 after a long fight with dementia. She was 81 years old. Beverly was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend who valued family and friendship and community! She was a life long resident of St. James Parish where she was born and raised and in turn raised her own family with her husband, Ronald, deceased since 1988. She was the matriarch of the families of her 2 daughters and 3 sons: Ronette and husband Kevin Duhe and their daughters Taylor, Sloane and Remi; Michael and his children Laura, Lindsey, Luke, Leslie and Lee; Leonard and wife Durie and their children Landon, Jordie and Cardur; Ann and husband Joe Martin and their children Justin, Rylee, Trey and Lillie; and Dean and April and their children Garrett and Kinsley.

Curtis A. Troxclair, Sr., age 77, was born on September 1, 1940 and passed away on December 17, 2017. He is a native of Mt. Airy and a resident of Lutcher, LA. He is survived by his children: Curtis Troxclair, Jr., Chandra Troxclair, and Chris Troxclair; his siblings: Rose Mae Rouillier, Jean Troxclair, Jr., Beverly Willis, and Harrison Troxclair as well as 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jean Troxclair, Sr., and Florence Torres Troxclair and brothers, Prudent and Larry Troxclair. A visitation in his honor was on Friday, December 22, 2017 at The Lutcher Chapel, 2350 LA Ave., Lutcher, LA from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, LA. ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA was in charge of the arrangements.

Richard J. Zeringue, age 86 was born on May 1, 1931, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. He was a native of Paulina, Louisiana and a life long resident of Gramercy, Louisiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Charmaine Cazentre Zeringue and his children: Gary, Greg (Missy), Laura (Kevin) Lambert, Lydia (Chad) Louque, Lynne (David) Bourg. His grandchildren: Jennifer, Leslie, Shelly, Jessie, Kylie, Ashley, Brandon, Ryan, Riley and 10 Great Grandchildren. A brother, Francis J. Zeringue and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felicien P. Zeringue and Elmire Roussel Zeringue and a sister, Marjorie Z. Murphree. Richard was a graduate of Lutcher High School. He served his country in the Korean War as a Corporal in the Army. He was employed by Shell Oil Refinery of Norco for 37 years. He loved spending time with his wife and family.

Yvonne R. Tabb, age 77, was born on January 10, 1940 and passed away on December 16, 2017. She was a native and resident of Paulina, LA. She is survived by children: Sherman (Sandra), Calvin (Tanya), Darryl, Danny (Debbie), Tony (Amanda), Celeste (James), Simona (Blaine), Renette (Kerwick) and numerous grandkids and great-grand kids. PASTOR NARCISSE

Elder (Eddie) E. Narcisse, Sr. 69 of Vacherie, LA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017, surrounded by his family. Elder Narcisse was an influential spiritual leader in the pulpit and silent architect providing counsel from Maryland to California for all in need. After serving his country in the United States Army, Eddie was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 43 years. He also went on to achieve a Doctor of Divinity from Saint Luke Evangelical School of Biblical Studies. After retirement from the postal service, Eddie faithfully served his community through spiritual leadership as head of Greater Deliverance Full Gospel (formerly Greater Second Baptist Full Gospel) in South Vacherie, Louisiana for 37 years. Elder Narcisse was ingrained deeply in his community through support of the St. James School Board, Sheriff’s Department, League of Better St. James, and providing weekly bible study articles in The Enterprise newspaper (Vacherie, LA).

Mary Louise Vicknair Duhe retired from St. John the Baptist Library, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 82. She was a native and resident of Reserve, LA. Beloved wife of the late Dave Duhe, Sr. Mother of Helena D. Ford (John), Troy Duhe (Ann), Dave Duhe, Jr. (Penny) and Paul Duhe (Cynthia). Daughter of the late Trezema Vicknair and Eva Landry Vicknair. Sister of Julia Bourg, Leslie Vicknair and the late Agnes Remondet, Eva Allen and Marion Klibert. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary loved to fish and will be missed by all.
