Helen Theresa Rock Ricard, a retired nurse, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the age of 90. She was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of Vacherie. Preceded in death by her husband, Emile J. Ricard, Jr., parents, Edith & Raymond Rock, Sr., brother Raymond Rock, Jr. and daughter Cheyrl Floyd. Helen leaves to mourn her memory 4 children, Lori Carnovale of Vacherie, Shaun Saizan (Darrel) of New Orleans, Mark Ricard (Aw) of Herndon, Virginia and Avis Sherman (Leo) of Porter, Texas. Beloved grandmother of Kristin Green, Kayla and Kristopher Floyd, Alexandra and Lauren Saizan, Cameron Sherman, Taiwah Ricard and great grandchildren, Alexis and Joseph Green. Helen is also survived by 3 sisters, Edith Reaves, Doris Olsen and Audrey Kennedy as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews and caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, September 9, 2017 at St. Phillip Catholic Church, 1175 Hwy.

Ryan Thomas Bourgeois, age 51, was born on May 28, 1966 and passed away on August 21, 2017. He is survived by his daughters: Meagan Bourgeois Milazzo (Vincent), and Kaitlyn Bourgeois. Grandsons: Bryden and Brax; his fiancé, Misty Louque and stepson Austin Coty Wagoner; his Mother, Ann Bourgeois; siblings: Richard Bourgeois, Jr. (Lynette), Christy B. Himel (Scott), and Jody Bourgeois (Monique). He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews: Lacey Himel, Scottie Himel, Ricky Bourgeois III, Nick Bourgeois, Cade Bourgeois, and Owen Bourgeois as well as great nieces and nephews: Nathan, Alaya, Natalie, Emmy & Blythe. He is preceded in death by his Father, Richard Bourgeois, Sr. and grandparents, Randall and Lizzie Bourgeois, and Roy and Grace Bourgeois. A visitation was on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, LA from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.

Ronald A. “Ronnie” Fremin, Jr., age 60, was born on December 1, 1956 and passed away on August 25, 2017. He is a native of Garyville, LA and a resident of Lutcher, LA. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Louque Fremin and 2 sons, Ryan Fremin and Ross Fremin and his dear sister, Tori Fremin Louque (Mitch Ramagos) as well as a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews and his furry best friend, Roscoe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald A. Fremin, Sr. and Norma Cambre Fremin, and a brother, Sheldon “Pyous” Fremin. Employees of Rain CII, are all invited to the visitation and services. A visitation in his honor was on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville, LA from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina, LA. Rosemary LeBoeuf Roussel, 91 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2017. She was a native of Lions and a resident of Gramercy. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland “Shawee” Roussel. She is survived by Ray Roussel (Paula) of Reserve, Wanda “Lee Lee” Lambert (Walter) of Lutcher, and Brent Roussel (Gail) of Gramercy as well as 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and a brother, Russell LeBoeuf (Joyce) of LaPlace. She is preceded in death by her parents, Agatha Michel LeBoeuf and Joseph H. LeBoeuf; and brother, Joseph H. LeBoeuf (Lillian). Alice Tregre, 69, a native of Abbeville, LA and resident of Vacherie, LA passed away on August 20, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Tregre; son, Jordan Tregre; brother, Leon Miquez, Jr.; sisters, Joyce Mills, Nettie Faulk, Leona Vanicor. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Miquez, Sr. and mother, Noila Romero. Alice was a day care worker and substitute teacher from PreK to 3rd grade. She loved all children. She also volunteered for senior citizens across South Louisiana for 30 years. Services will be held privately by her family. James Philip Simon, a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at his home in Vacherie, LA on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the age of 83. He was a native of Vacherie and a long time resident in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. James proudly served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. After 40 plus years working for a Caterpillar dealership in Illinois, he returned to Vacherie, LA and spent his time volunteering at St. Joseph Plantation, his birthplace. He took great pride in caring for the grounds, especially the roses. He was most happy working outside, gardening, wood working and spending time with family and friends. James is survived by his 4 children: James (Mary), Christine Goldberg (Paul), Thomas (Katy), and John (Carola); his 7 grandchildren: Sarah, Tom, Tim, Corrine, Lauren, Danny and Melanie; and his dear sister Thelma Tucker. James was predeceased by his wife Constance C. Simon (nee Carlson), his brothers and a sister.

Gerald J. Laroze, age 90, was born on April 26, 1927 and passed away at his home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bertha Bourgeois Laroze; sons: Paul Laroze (Rhonda), Tommy Laroze (Susan); daughters: Kathy Gueret (Gene), Wanda Gravois (Patrick), and son-in-law Michael Jagneaux as well as a brother, Daniel Laroze and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrille Laroze and Philomene Tassin Laroze; a daughter, Donna Jagneaux; sisters: Marie Louise Schexnayder, Laurence Schexnayder, and Therese Laroze. Gerald retired from Colonial Sugars after 41 years of service as a machinist. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and celebrating the holidays with all of his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Karen ‘Sue’ (Thompson) Daron

Karen ‘Sue’ (Thompson) Daron, 73, passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017. She was born March 16, 1944 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Geraldine Thompson, both of whom preceded her in death. Sue graduated from Mattoon High School in 1962, where she was a member of the Del Phi Beta Sorority. She later met and married the love of her life, Jack L. Daron on February 28, 1965. Sue and Jack started their family in Charleston and Robinson, IL, and moved to Lutcher, LA in 1977. She raised three boys in Louisiana before relocating back to the Midwest. They moved to Brownsburg, IN in 1989, and after 52 years together, Jack preceded Sue in death just 6 short weeks ago. Sue loved her garden, her trips to Bob Evans, her garage sales, and most of all her card games. More than any of that she loved her cats. She also served as the former Treasurer for the Indy 500 Chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America.
