Michael Joseph Mohon, age 35, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2017. He is survived by his parents, Roy L. Mohon, Jr. and Elise Hymel Mohon; a brother, Chris Mohon; grandmothers, Anne L. Mohon and Noelie F. Hymel as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Roy L. Mohon, Sr. and Joseph J. Hymel II. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation in his honor was held Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent, LA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina, LA. Rose Mary Berthelot passed away July 1, 2017. She is survived by her children Virginia “Pete” Gilbert (Kenneth), Paulette Duhe (Ivan), Charlotte “Tee” Metge (Malcolm) Debra “PNut” Roussel (Dennis Paul), and Mary April “Tootsy” Miller (Dennis). Grandchildren Michele Poche, Brad Gilbert, Travis Gilbert, Alan Berthelot, Jason Berthelot, Ryan Berthelot, Scott Duhe, Jennifer Duhe, David Metge, Randy Metge, Erika Kinler, Cory Roussel, Chad Roussel, Casey Roussel, Blaise Miller, and Becky Miller. She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Dalton “Payant” Berthelot, son Kenneth “Pedro” Berthelot (Delores “Dee”) grandson Aaron Berthelot, and her parents Preval and Virginia Madere. Rose loved sewing and crocheting, camping, going out to eat, QVC and HSN, and collecting jewelry and clothes. She will be greatly missed. Bryon J. Becnel, age 62, was born on June 23, 1955 and passed away on June 28, 2017 at Ochsner Medical Center, Kenner. He is survived by his wife, Geralyn Hymel Becnel; his mother, Mary Agnes Folse; children: Heidi Martinez (Robby), and Shawn Becnel; brothers: Larry Becnel, David Becnel and Timmy Becnel, and sister Adelaide; his granddaughter, Allie Martinez, as well as his mother-in-law, Teen Hymel. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles S. Becnel; brothers: James, and Charles Becnel; sister: Anne Palazzolo, father-in-law, Kelsey “Pop” Hymel and grandson, Ty Martinez. A visitation in his honor was on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie from 8:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery. Violet Louque “MeMe” Roussel, 88, of Lutcher, LA died on Sunday, June 25, 2017, peacefully surrounded by her seven children. Violet is survived by her sons: Hennis Roussel, Sr., Dennis Roussel (Gaynell), Allen Jerry Roussel (Julie), Terry Roussel (Melissa), Kent Roussel (Laurie), Brent Roussel, and her daughter, Violet Houser (Brent); Along with numerous grandchildren and greatgrand children and her uncle Prentice Louque. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen J. “Gingo” Roussel; grandson, Hennis J. Roussel, Jr.; daughter- in-law, DeAnna G. Roussel; and Parents: Hennis and Elma Louque. Violet was born on February 22, 1929 and lived her life raising her children in Lutcher. She spent the last four years in Monroe, LA close to her daughter, but her heart was always in St. James Parish. MeMe and Gingo were sole proprietors of Red & White Grocery Store in Lutcher which later became Roussel’s A & G. They worked hard and served their community well.

RODRIGUE

Alwin G. “Red” Rodrigue died on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. He left behind his wife of 63 years Amazelie (Mazelle) Amedee Rodrigue, four daughters, Carol Ann (Glenn) Hymel, Ellen (Tony) Aucoin, Mary Gravois (Trevor Simon), and Jaime (Troy) Chenier all of Vacherie, and one son - Victor (Paige) Rodrigue of Groves, TX. He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. He was the brother of Errol Rodrigue, Janet Moates, Sheila Haydel and Charlene Hutchings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mae Belle Guidry Rodrigue; sister Betty Falgoust; two brothers, Edward and Robley Rodrigue; one son in law, Spencer Toomer and one brother-inlaw, Alvin Haydel. He was a native and resident of Vacherie for 83 years. He was a member of the National Guard and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 37 years of employment. A wake was held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11:30 a.m.

Carli Landry Keller passed away June 15, 2017. She is survived by her significant other “husband” Joey Keller, her daughter Mindy Murray (Michael), mother Emelda St. Pierre Louque, brothers Ridge and Tyrone Louque and her grandchildren, Mason Poche, Bailey LeBlanc, Mikaela Murray, Miles Murray, Donovon Laiche, Madden Murray, and Savanah Bangs, and one great grandchild Myla Poche. She is preceded in death by her father Murphy Louque, children Tina Laiche LeBlanc and Daren Michael Laiche, and one grandchild Marly Murray. Carli loved everything, whether it was doing arts and crafts, woodworking, camping, boating, eating boiled crabs, or visiting with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a memorial visitation at Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Hwy Lutcher, La, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 beginning at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m.

Germaine Hope Domino

Germaine Hope Domino, native and life-long resident of Vacherie, LA., went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2017. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and its gospel choir. She was also a member of Cheris Soignet’s choir. Germaine was a 1978 graduate of St. James High School and went on to earn her Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, LA. She worked until 2012, the year in which she was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Despite her illness, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Keith Laurent; devoted aunts Phyllis G. Oubre and Maxine O. Borne Anderson (Raymond); mother-in-law Louise Boudoin Laurent; brother-in-law, Kenneth M. Laurent and stepson Jeremy Laurent.

Candace Dale Reulet, 18, was born on September 17, 1998 and passed away on May 21, 2017. She was a native of Kraemer, LA and resident of Vacherie, LA. She is survived by her parents, Delyn Hotard and Tony Reulet; sister, Rani Reulet; dog, Nova; grandparents, Delvin and Ann Hotard and Dale and Maxine Reulet; great-grandparents, George and Terese Reulet; uncle, Todd Roussell; paran, Almond Ledet; nanny, Beth Hebert; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Candace graduated from Thibodaux High School in 2016 and attended Nicholls State University. She loved her dogs and X-Box and being with her friends and family. She was a devoted caregiver to her grandmother. Candace will be remembered as being a very kindhearted person and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. A visitation was held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11:00 a.m.

Visiting was on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, 1204 Cleveland St., Thibodaux, LA from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visiting was on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 13281 LA-644, Vacherie, LA from 8:00 a.m. to Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survived by 2 sons, Edward (Odetta) and Lawrence (Betty) Keller; 2 daughters, Rita C. Keller and Lois M. Keller; 1 sister, Nazzie Laurent; 19 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and Edward Favoroth; husband, Armand Keller; 1 son, Nicholas Keller. Hilda Babin Breaud, beloved mother and grandmother of Vacherie, LA was called to her eternal resting place on June 11, 2017. She passed away just a few days shy of her 92nd birthday. Hilda was a kind, sweet, gentle soul who never had a harsh word to say. She was adored by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
