Steve, it’s been many years since you
were taken from me.
On Mother’s Day I miss you so much,
But I know you are in Heaven and
looking down on me for Mother’s Day so
I try to be a little happy and a little sad
at the same time.
I will always miss you and love you so
very much.
Love, Mom

POCHE

Article Image Alt Text

Germaine Guidry Poche, age 83, was born on November 12, 1934 and passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Lutcher and was a resident of Paulina for most of her life. She was a woman who stood steadfast in her Catholic faith, accepting a terminal diagnosis of cancer knowing she would soon see the face of God. She was a beloved mother who enjoyed cooking for family and of course her family savored her great cooking. However, she truly looked forward to her Sunday lunch outings at her favorite restaurants. Our mom was a lady of old school values who loved her morning coffee while reading the newspaper, never missing the crossword puzzles, but embraced modern technology spending much time on her iPad and texting her family. Germaine was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wilmer “Joe” Poche, who she deeply loved and respected as well as her son Grady.
