Germaine Guidry Poche, age 83, was born on November 12, 1934 and passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Lutcher and was a resident of Paulina for most of her life. She was a woman who stood steadfast in her Catholic faith, accepting a terminal diagnosis of cancer knowing she would soon see the face of God. She was a beloved mother who enjoyed cooking for family and of course her family savored her great cooking. However, she truly looked forward to her Sunday lunch outings at her favorite restaurants. Our mom was a lady of old school values who loved her morning coffee while reading the newspaper, never missing the crossword puzzles, but embraced modern technology spending much time on her iPad and texting her family. Germaine was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wilmer “Joe” Poche, who she deeply loved and respected as well as her son Grady. She leaves behind 4 children, Eric (Sherilyn), Douglas, Dina Richard (Bryant), Clark (Temple), a daughter-in-law, Dana, and eleven grandchildren; Tracie, Eric Jr., Lyle, Courtney, Caleb, Michelle, Allie, Erin, Karyn, Hillary, and Emma. She is also survived by great grandchildren and her sister Alice Louque. Her parents Morris P. and Hilda Tassin Guidry and her brother Julian Guidry also preceded her in death. A visitation in her honor was on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Joseph Church in Paulina, LA from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery. Roselynn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences can be offered at ww.roselynnfuneralhome.com
