Royal “Roy” Melancon, age 73, a native and resident of Vacherie, Louisiana, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Visiting was held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial in the church cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories 2 sons, Alfred Smith, Jr. and Dion Melancon; 3 daughters, Jada and Cynthia Melancon and Shelcy (Murphy) Legaux; 5 brothers, Raymond, Larry (Linda), Steve (Debra), Clinton (Rita), Barry (Verlyn) Melancon; 1 sister Florence “Mice” Roussell; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Jasmin Melancon; parents, Joseph and Flavia Melancon; 4 brothers, James, Roland, Joseph and Glenn Melancon, Sr.; 1 sister, Stella Melancon Castle; his mother-in-law, Sedonia Jasmin; father-inlaw, Dewey Jasmin, Jr.; 3 sisters-in law and 1 brotherin- law.

Doris Mitchell Poché, a native of Union and a longtime resident of Lutcher, passed away suddenly at the age of 82, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 1:53 a.m. at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Doris was the beloved wife of Guy J. Poché for 53 years. Because of this beautiful union, Doris was a devoted and loving mother to Guy M. (Vicki N.) Poché (deceased); Brad Poché; Craig Poché, Todd (Ginger) Poché; Jude (Hope) Poché, Troas (Mandy) Poché; and Vicki (Lester) Millet. Doris is survived by the following grandchildren, who she loved and adored so much, and lived her life for, as well as for her entire family: Bo (Jennifer) Poché, Tara Towers; Jordan Poché, Dustin (Nadia) Poché, Brooke Poché, Nicole (Shawn) Becnel, Holly (Alex) Marse, Lester Millet IV, Christopher Millet, Chelsea Becnel, Chloe Poché, Phoebe Poché, Breanna Poché, and Brilee Poché. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and one sibling, her sister, Rosalie (Godfrey) Waguespack.

Edna Martin Melancon died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 12:11 p.m. at River Parish Hospital/Ochsner at the age of 90. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen M. Audiffred, and Suzanne M. Remondet (Ralph); her grandchildren: Roman Remondet (Adele), Danielle R. Simon (Kenneth), and Rod Remondet (Heidi); her great-grandchildren: Abby, Logan, and Clark Remondet; Kenley and Hayden Simon, and Sutton Remondet; her great-great-grandchild, Bentley Remondet and her sister, Lucille Babin (Louis), and sister-in-law, Gertrude Melancon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel V. Melancon; her parents, Edward and Annette D. Martin, son-in-law, Stephen “Brad” Audiffred, and brother Nichol Martin; sisters: Hilda Waguespack, Irene Leblanc, Ethel LeBlanc, and Enola Duplessis. Ronald Anthony St. Pierre died peacefully at the age of 75 on October 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Oubre St. Pierre; sons: Ronald (RJ) (Tammy) and John Michael (Joy) St. Pierre; grandchildren: Joey (Lindsey), Corey (Erin), April and Preston St. Pierre, and 2 great-granddaughters: Abigail and Aubree St. Pierre. Barry Lynn St. Pierre, age 68 passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9th, 2016 with his family at his side. A native and resident of Grand Point, LA. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jessica St. Pierre (Chris), Nichole St. Pierre Chauvin (Rocky) and Sissy St. Pierre Duhe (Raydell). Grandchildren: Lance Riedlinger Jr., Jeffrey Riedlinger, Rebecca Law, Hannah Chauvin, Tyler Chauvin, Haven Chauvin, Jacob Duhe, Daniel Duhe, and Sadie Duhe.
