Edna Martin Melancon died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 12:11 p.m. at River Parish Hospital/Ochsner at the age of 90. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen M. Audiffred, and Suzanne M. Remondet (Ralph); her grandchildren: Roman Remondet (Adele), Danielle R. Simon (Kenneth), and Rod Remondet (Heidi); her great-grandchildren: Abby, Logan, and Clark Remondet; Kenley and Hayden Simon, and Sutton Remondet; her great-great-grandchild, Bentley Remondet and her sister, Lucille Babin (Louis), and sister-in-law, Gertrude Melancon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel V. Melancon; her parents, Edward and Annette D. Martin, son-in-law, Stephen “Brad” Audiffred, and brother Nichol Martin; sisters: Hilda Waguespack, Irene Leblanc, Ethel LeBlanc, and Enola Duplessis. A visitation in her honor was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
