Joseph Garetino, III age 70, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was a native of Reserve, LA and a resident of Paulina, LA. He is survived by his son, Kirt Garetino and wife Cathy and daughter, Connie Brunson and husband, Alan as well as a sister, Mary Griffin, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Zeller Garetino; daughter, Cindy Edwards, brother, Michael Garetino, and parents Joseph and Angelle Garetino. Visitation will be at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Burial will be at a later date. Merrill H. Gerstner, a former resident of Lutcher passed away December 14, 2016 in Connecticut at age 81. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Roger Smith, 3 grandchildren: Russell Smith of Boston, MA, Trevor Smith of Seattle, WA, and Sydney Smith of Madison, CT. and 3 sisters Janet Carubba, Gretchen Bankston and Catherine Teijelo. He was preceded in death by his wife Amelie (Tootsie) Woods Gerstner and parents Henry and Verlin Boutte Gerstner. A mass of Christian burial was held January 1, 2017 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Thibodaux, LA at 1:00 p.m. Burial was in church cemetery.

Robert Martin Louque, Jr. passed away on January 3, 2017 surrounded by family and friends after a long courageous battle with Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer. He was 39 and a native of Grand Point, LA. He lived in New Orleans for several years and then in Convent, LA. Robbie is survived by his loving mother, Kathryn Kliebert Hendricks and step father, Wade Hendricks; father, Robert (Marty) Louque, Sr.; sisters, Tammy Ockman Wisinger and Christina Louque; nephews, Cory Dusang, Jon Chabaud, and Joseph Chabaud; nieces, Kaylie Wisinger and Faith Wisinger; great nephew, Xavier Dusang, and Daisy his fur baby companion. He is preceded in death by Rita and Sidney Kliebert of Convent (maternal grandparents) and Jeanne and Kearney Louque, Sr. of Grand Point (paternal grandparents) and his beloved dog, Simba.

Oswald Joseph Schexnayder, age 91, passed away at his residence on December 30, 2016 at 10:01 a.m., belved husband of Emma Marse Schexnayder, father of Dale Nicholas Schexnayder (Gretchen) and the late Ronald Schexnayder (Jennifer), brother of Albert (Daisy), Roland (Helen), Ralph (Shirley), the late Huey Schexnaydre, Bernardine Duhon (Ned) and the late Ethel Tramonte (Steve).

Preceded in death by parents Nicholas and Melanie Schexnaydre. 6 grandchildren - Michael Schexnayder, Amy Schexnayder Oubre (Rob), Nicholas Schexnayder, Abigail Schexnayder Goggins (Josh), Maria & Therese Schexnayder, 2 step-children Brandon Montz and Kristy Bergeron Bourgeois and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ronald "Prof" Labat, 84, a native and resident of Vacherie, LA, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

He is survived by his children, Michael Labat and wife Lisa, Lyndon Labat and wife Aelisha; grandchildren, Jordie Labat and wife Heather, Caine Labat, Gage Labat; g r eat - g randchi ldr en, Kallie Labat, Zack Labat, Bentley Labat; brother, Gary Labat.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Gravois Labat; parents, Willie Labat and Neva Labat; brother, Ramon Labat.

An alumni of Nicholls State University and University of South Louisiana, he devoted 33 years of his life to elementary education. He was also a member of the South Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

Marilyn Miller Williams, a long-time resident of Lutcher, LA passed away on December 13, 2016 at the age of 91. She was a native of Algiers, LA, and a graduate of Martin Behrman High School Class of 1942.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Williams, Jr.; her parents, James Miller and Mary DiNapoli Miller, and her infant grand-daughter, Katie Williams.

She is survived by sons: Walter F. Williams, III and wife, Victoria and Miller James Williams and wife, Iona; also survived by granddaughters: Beatrice Williams, Alexandra Williams, and Wendy Ferera as well as great-granddaughter Brianna Ferera.

Haydel (Wag) Antoine Waguespack, Sr., age 82, died on December 17, 2016 after a brief struggle with cancer.

Wag is survived by his wife of 60 years, LeAnne Zeringue Waguespack and 4 sons: Kirk (Doreen), Bradley (Debbie), Dale (Jill), and Haydel “Boo” Jr. (Tammy). He leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Jacob “Dusty” Waguespack, Amber W. Millet, Taylor W. Cantillo, BJ Waguespack, Riley Waguespack and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Jewell Cuccia, Blanche Troxclair, and Gaynell Bourgeois.

Mr. Waguespack was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney P. Waguespack and Blanche H. Waguespack and siblings Sidney P. Waguespack, Jr., Elia Waguespack, and Marcelle Haydel. He was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Garyville, LA for 58 years.

Rosemary Becnel Gravois, age 90, was born on November 24, 1926 and passed away peacefully at her home on December 14, 2016. She was a native of Garyville, LA and a resident of Paulina, LA.

She is survived by her children: John (Gale), Marcelle (Roger) Blanchard, Mary (Michael) Roussel, Ozane (Darleen), Gerald (Mona), Vincent (Lydia), Clyde (Tania), Alan (Lynette), Patrick (Wanda), Edward (Patti), and Rose “Missy” Gravois, Mary Becnel, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, numerous great-grand-children and sister, Jeanne Gregoire.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, “O.J.” Gravois, Jr, grandmother, Hermina Falgoust, parents Edward and Corestile Stein Becnel, son Michael James Gravois, brothers Elmo and Floyd, sisters Mariette Becnel and Virgia Folse, and a great-grand daughter, Isabelle Sakovich and a nephew, Errol Becnel.

Percy J. Bueche, age 76, was born on December 13, 1940 and passed away on December 18, 2016.

He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Gramercy, LA. He is survived by his wife, Barbara David Bueche; sons: Chad (Angie) and Scott (Jamie) Bueche; daughter, Amy (Greg) Cowart; step daughters: Dana (Jude) Brady and Jalene (Donnie) Zimmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Bueche, and Alma Bergeron Bueche; 1 brother, John Fabre and 3 sisters: Beatrice Bayham, Ethel May Bueche, and Mary Cooper. He also leaves behind his 10 grandchildren: Ali, Joni, Luke, Jacob, Aubrey, Brantley, Kayla, Haylee, Zachary, and Logan. Percy loved to fish, dance, and spend time with his grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, LA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Robin Ann Forsyth Hurley, 60, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Carpenter House. Robin was born in Lutcher and was a resident of Prairieville.

She was a homemaker.

Robin is survived by her husband Wesley M. Hurley, III of Prairieville; mother Hazel Heltz Forsyth of Lutcher; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Tommy Decoteau of Dutchtown; sisters Nancy Lasseigne of Prairieville and Penny Zeringue of Gramercy; brothers Alvin Forsyth, Jr. and Bruce Forsyth of Lutcher and grandchildren Elise and Chelsea Decoteau.

Robin was preceded in death by daughter Chelsea Hurley and her father Alvin Forsyth, Sr.

Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday December 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Randy Clement. Interment followed at Hope Haven Cemetery, Prairieville.
