Coach Chad Carter's Lutcher High School Track Team placed 2nd overall in the final standings and qualified several men at the Region 3-3A meet last week. Lutcher's state qualifiers are Jontre Kirklin, Thaddeus Watis, Joseph Weathersby, Tylon Scott, Amere Roussel, Robert Weathersby, Tahrike Jones and Elijah Baldwin.

The No. 15th seeded Lutcher Lady Bulldog Softball team advanced to the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Fast Pitch 56 Class 3A Tournament in Sulphur, LA after coming away with consecutive  playoff wins in the first and second rounds. State Tournament play begins with a quarterfinal game on Friday, April 29th and semifinal and championship games set for Saturday, April  30th.

The Lutcher Bulldog baseball team continued to tune up for state playoffs by taking a pair of wins over Destrehan and Morgan City last week. Against Destrehan, the Bulldogs registered a 5-2 victory over the Wildcats.  Neither team would score in the first two innings. Lutcher broke the ice with three runs in the third when Luke  Zeringue and Cameron Guillot each had base hits. Later Dylan Recotta delivered a RBI single and  Ethan Bland followed with a two-run RBI double.

The St. James Lady Wildcat Softball team saw its record setting season come to an abrupt halt when the No. 8 seeded Pine Prairie Lady Panthers came away with a 12-2 victory in the State Class 3A Regional playoff. The loss ends the season for St. James while the Lady Panthers advance to the quarterfinal round at the AllState Sugar Bowl Fast Pitch 56 Tournament slated for this weekend. The Lady 'Cats, who had their best seed entering the playoffs at No. 9, could not get the timely hits.  

Young Maddox Louque threw the first pitch at the Lutcher vs. Lusher game. Former Bulldog Cody Calderera was the catcher.

The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Softball team will begin the State Class 3A playoffs this week. Lutcher was slated to face St. Louis on Tuesday, April 19th with the winner advancing to the regional round that has to be played by Saturday, April 23rd. The winner of the regional round advances to play in the quarterfinal round at the State Tournament slated for Sulphur, La. on April 29-30th. Entering the postseason the Lady Bulldogs (14-13) are seeded No. 15 while St. Louis (11-10) is seeded No. 18.

The St. James Wildcat Baseball team captured its sixth victory of the season after defeating the White Castle Bulldogs 6-2 in a nondistrict contest. Jared Tabor of the Wildcats pitched a gem against White Castle. He threw for four innings striking out seven and gave up just three hits. Tabor led the team at the plate going 3- for - 4.

The Lutcher Bulldog Baseball team captured the District 10-3A championship after defeating the Lusher Charter School Lions in a pair of games last week. The wins improved Lutcher to a perfect 8-0 in league play. The Bulldogs will now prepare to begin the Class 3A state playoffs beginning next week.
