Lady Bulldogs Extend Winning Streak To Sixteen And Claim District Championship

Any team competing in Louisiana high school volleyball would be thrilled with being ranked third in their division at this point of the volleyball season and the Lutcher Lady Bulldogs have achieved that benchmark and trail only Tuerlings Catholic and Westlake in the LHSAA's unofficial statewide power ratings for Division III. More importantly the Lady Bulldogs captured the District 6-III title after sweeping past St. Michael last week to improve to a perfect 7-0 mark in league play.

Lady Wildcats Remain Winless In District Play

The St. James Lady Wildcat volleyball team continued to struggle in District 5-V play after dropping a pair of matches to Riverside Academy and to John Curtis Christian School. Against Riverside, the Lady ‘Cats fell by set scores of 25-8, 25-16, 25-15. Individual leaders for St. James were Chante Keller with three aces and 22 assists, Nadia Braud with 13 kills, and Raysher Lewis finished with three digs. Also, Lakeeva Carcisse led the defense with 25 digs.

Lady Bulldogs Win Own Tourney With Five Consecutive Victories

Last week was a big week for the Lutcher High School Lady Bulldog volleyball team. The Lady ‘Dogs extended won five consecutive matches to extend their wining streak to 11 games, and with the five victories, the Lady Bulldogs captured first-place in their own tournament. In the Bulldog Classic tournament, the Lady Bulldogs went undefeated in Pool Play with wins over St. Charles-Catholic, Ascension Christian and South Terrebonne.

Lutcher qualified in 4 more events at last week's swim meet in Baton Rouge. Madison Vicknair was a first time qualifier in 50 free. Hayden Brack qualified in 200 Free. He had previously qualified in 50 and 100 free, and 100 back. Ethan Bland picked up his third qualifying time in the 200 free along with the 50 and 100 free.
