LUTCHER HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL HONORS

Lutcher volleyball players Janaya Taylor and Jariel Tureaud were selected to the Louisiana Volleyball Coaches All-State Team. Both players received All-District honors with Jariel Tureaud taking the top honor as District offensive MVP while Coach Ricky LeBlanc received the Coach of the Year.

Lady Cats Fall On Last Second Layup Shot

The St. James Lady Wildcat Basketball team suffered is sixth loss of the season after the Vandebilt Catholic Lady Terriers captured a narrow 57-56 victory in a non-district contest. Vandy trailed by one in the final seconds of the game.

Bulldogs Finish 2-1 In Spartan Classic

The Lutcher Bulldog Basketball team captured a pair of wins in the annual Spartan Classic hosted by East Ascension High School. Lutcher captured wins over White Castle and Destrehan, but fell to Bonnabel in tournament play. Against White Castle, the Bulldogs came away with a 59-53 victory.

Lady Cats Finish 2-1 In White Castle Tournament

The St. James Lady Wildcat Basketball team finished with a 2-1 mark in the White Castle Tournament, beating Brusly and Plaquemine and losing to Belaire. Against Brusly, the Lady Cats came away with a 58-27 victory. St. James led from start to finish and outscored the Lady Panthers in every quarter to secure the win.

Bulldogs Take Third In Hornsby Classic

The Lutcher Bulldog Basketball team of head coach Chase Delrie participated in the annual Grady Hornsby Classic hosted by Denham Springs High School last week. Lutcher finished in third place overall defeating a pair of teams and losing to the eventual tournament winner. The Bulldogs began tourney play with a 86-62 victory over Hammond.

Wildcats Take Care Of BUsiness With 28-14 Victory Over Northeast Raiders

Last Friday at Wildcat Stadium in Vacherie, the St. James Wildcat football team accomplished a goal that has been eluding the team for the last two seasons - they advanced to the semifinals. The Wildcats cruised to a 28-14 victory over the Northwest  Raiders in the State Class 3A quarterfinal playoff and with the win advanced to the semifinal round and are now just one win away from vying for the State Championship trophy.

Bulldogs Fight Through Adversity To Conquer Pirates; A Win Away From Facing Wildcats In Done

The Lutcher Bulldogs hit the road and traveled to Kaplan High School last Friday and the No. 1 seeded Bulldogs had to dig deep and fight hard to conquer the Pirates to keep their goal of playing for a 3-A State Championship on the table. “We had to overcome a lot of adversity” - those are the words Lutcher Head Coach Tim Detillier used to describe what it took for the Bulldogs to come back home with the 13-8 victory.
