Jenkins Looks For Bulldogs To Rebound After Loss To Gators

Even though the Lutcher Bulldogs came up just short last Friday to the St. Amant Gators, if you are a Lutcher Bulldog football fan, you can’t say you have not gotten your money’s worth the last several home games.

Wildcats Cage Cardinals; Remain Unbeaten In 2016

The St. James Wildcat football team built a comfortable lead and then had to hold off the homestanding E.D. White Cardinals to register a 40-28 victory and to stay unbeaten on the season. St. James built a 27-7 advantage at the half only to see E.D. White score 14 points in the third quarter to close the gap to within 27-21 before the Wildcats added a couple of insurance touchdowns to secure the win.

4-H Healthy Lifestyles Fun Run: Ready, Set, Glow

As part of National 4-H Week, St. James 4-H will host the 2016 Healthy Lifestyles, Glow Fun Run on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Gramercy Elementary School. 4-H and community members can participate in the 1-mile, 2-mile or 5K race. This year the theme is “Ready, Set, Glow”. The runners will light up the night with their glow in  the dark clothes and bracelets and other things.

Lutcher Sets Tone Quickly In 3-0 Win

The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Volleyball team captured its sixth win of the season after defeating St. Charles Catholic by set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-10. Janaya Taylor fired 19 kills to lead Lutcher. She also recorded eight digs, two blocks and four aces. Teammate Molly Mohon added seven kills, three digs and four aces.

Lady Bulldogs Finish 2-2 In Assumption Tournament

The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Volleyball team participated in the Assumption Tournament recently and finished with a 2-2 mark. The Lady Bulldogs defeated East Ascension and Acadiana in Pool play, but suffered losses to Houma Christian and to Assumption. Against Houma Christian, the Lady Bulldogs fell by set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Lady ‘Cats Capture Season Opening Win Over West St. John

The St. James Lady Wildcat Volleyball team began their season in grand fashion with a 25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 25-9 victory over the West St. John Lady Rams. The win marked the debut of new Lady 'Cats coach Katie Duhe, who was pleased with the solid effort her team displayed.

St. James Mauls West St. John; Shots Fired Outside Stadium As Game Ends

The St. James Wildcat football team began the season in grand fashion by registering a 33-6 victory over the West St. John Rams in the season opener for both teams. The win marked the first time the Wildcats defeated the Rams in the annual “Railroad Classic” contest since 2007.

Bulldogs Open 2016 Season With Beatdown Of Dutchtown

The Lutcher Bulldog football team opened the regular season last Friday by dominating the 5A Dutchtown Griffins enroute to a 35-10 victory. On paper, the Bulldogs dominated every statistical category, but in talking to head coach Dwain Jenkins, he admits that his coaches and his players feel their play on the field, especially offensively, could have been better.

The St. James Lady Wildcat Volleyball team will have a new head coach this season as Katie Duhe replaces Shonese Bickham, who was the Lady Wildcats' coach for the past two seasons.
