Bulldogs Trounce Mustangs 28-0 To Advance To Second Round Of Playoffs; Host Wossman This Week

Heading into last Friday’s opening round playoff game against the No. 29 seeded Avoyelles Mustangs, the No. 4 seeded Lutcher Bulldogs knew that in order for the ‘Dogs to advance that they had to take advantage of every possession that came their way. Possessions, when playing a team such as Avoyelles, can be hard to come by because their entire game plan is designed to keep their offense on the field and opposing offenses off the field.

LUTCHER HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY NEWS

Lutcher's MS Cross Country Team placed 9th overall in a at the state Middle School meet. Daylin Dumas led the Puppy's with a split time of 6:06 and a 12:48 finish. Other finishers were Reid Bodin 12:53, Ethan Poche 13:04, Trey Hauge 13:10, Kade Esquivel 13:52, and PJ Duhe 14:00.

Lutcher Volleyball News

The Lutcher Volleyball Team landed three players on the Division III District 6 First Team All District Team. First Team: Meagan Michel (SR) libero, Mackenzie Louviere (JR) setter, and Janaya Taylor (SR) outside hitter. Allie Roussel (SR) and Jaleah Lafargue (FR) received honorable mention.

Lady Bulldogs Eliminated In Regional Round

The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Volleyball team saw its season come to an last week when the Parkview Baptist Lady Eagles came away with a 25-20, 25-21, 26-24 in a three game set victory in regional round play of the Division III state playoffs. The contest matched two teams in the same District battling for a berth in the State Tournament. Parkview finished as the District 6-III runnerup while Lutcher was third. Both teams had split their season series winning on their respective home court.
