Bulldogs, Wildcats Named To All-District, All-State Teams

The All-District 9-3A football team and the Class 3A All-State team were announced recently and the state Class 3A champion Lutcher Bulldogs had several members named to the elite squad.
 
The Bulldogs had Dylan Recotta named the Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player in District 9-3A along with Jamarian James of De La Salle.

Lutcher's only two seniors, Harrell and Brown, led the team to a come from behind win over Vandebilt Catholic 57-49, scoring 16 points apiece.

Lady Cats Hold Off McDonough 35, 58-52

The St. James Lady Wildcat Basketball team captured its seventh win of the season after defeating the McDonough 35 Lady Roneagles by a 58- 52 score in a non-district contest.

St. James jumped out to a 10-8 first quarter lead and then expanded their advantage in the second period outscoring the Lady Roneagles 25-14 in the quarter to make it 35- 22 at the half. Leading the charge for St. James were Charity Cooper and Raveon Fletcher, who each poured in eight points apiece in the period.

Sr. Alex McCarroll scored a goal in Lutcher's 5-0 win over Hahnville. Aryton Stein scored 2 goals while Mason Keller and Logan Bourgeois each scored 1. Stein, Cade Williamson, Wesley Patterson, and Bourgeois had assists.

The St. James Lady Wildcat basketball team suffered a pair of non-district defeats last week to Episcopal and to Thibodaux.
 
Against Thibodaux, the Lady 'Cats fell by a 52-29 score.
