The St. James Lady Wildcat Basketball team ended regular season play with a pair of victories over St. Katherine Drexel and DeLaSalle. The wins gave St. James the District 10-3A title finishing with a perfect 10-0 mark. It marked the third straight year the Lady 'Cats have won the league crown and have done so twice going undefeated. St. James has a 24-1 mark over the last three seasons in District competition under the direction of coach Curtis Lawrence.

The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Basketball team dropped a 48-32 decision to the South Terrebonne Lady Gators in a non-district contest. The loss left Lutcher with a 15-15 record entering the final week of the regular season. The Lady Bulldogs have a 31st ranking in the latest Class 3A power rankings. The Top 32 teams in Classes 3A, 4A and 5A will make the state basketball playoffs.

The Lutcher Bulldog Basketball team split a pair of District 9-3A contests last week, beating Eleanor McMain and losing to De La Salle. Against McMain, the Bulldogs captured their first District win with a 90-62 win over the Mustangs. Lutcher jumped out to a 12-9 first quarter lead and then outscored McMain 22- 13 in the second period to take a 34-22 advantage at the half. Leading the scoring surge for the Bulldogs in the second quarter were Jaylin Burns and Draymond Morris who poured in five and seven points, respectively.

The St. James Lady Wildcat basketball team reached the .500 mark for the season after defeating both De La Salle and Lusher Charter last week in a pair of league encounters. St. James improved to 14-14 on the year and have now won seven straight games. Against De La Salle, the Lady 'Cats captured a 49-39 win.
