Judge Hears Several Motions In Roussel Case
On Monday, June 19th, lawyers representing St. James Parish President Timmy Roussel and lawyers from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office were at the Convent Courthouse to hear pre-trial motions filed in the indictment case against Roussel.
Twenty-third Judicial District Judge Jason Verdigets ruled on one motion and took all others under advisement. The Attorney General’s office is prosecuting Roussel, who was indicted by a Grand Jury last September on six counts of Malfeasance in Office for allegedly running a free gas line to a private business and using public equipment, employees and funds to benefit private businesses and private residents.
