Leah Philomena Deroche was born on February 20, 2017 and passed away on March 2, 2017.

She is survived by her parents, Oren and Jennifer Belak Deroche; her siblings, Beau, Sean, Sarah, and Rebecca Deroche; her Paternal Grandparents Donald and Kathleen Breaud Deroche; her Maternal Grandparents Karlo and Karen Thompson Belak.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Raphael, Gabriella, and Victoria Deroche. Leah was blessed to have received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. She has gone before the Throne of the Most High God without ever having stained or blemished her baptismal garment. As Easter people, we know that she will be raised again with a glorified body reunited to her perfect soul to live eternally in the City of God. Although we grieve at our loss of not having her in our life, there is nothing we want more for her than the Beatific Vision, so we also rejoice in her being able to see, love, and know God as completely as she can. In God’s presence for eternity, never having sinned on earth, she will never know sin or its consequences and she will forever know love and joy. As parents it is our ultimate goal to help our children to get to heaven. Now she is our little saint, able to intercede on our behalf to the Holy Trinity.

The wake was on Sunday, March 5, 2017 with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and general visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Home. Visitation was on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Convent, LA followed by Low Mass in the Extraordinary Form, at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in St. Michael’s Catholic Church cemetery. There was a gathering in the hall behind St. Michael’s Church following the burial.
