Desegregation Attorney Outlines School Board’s School Reconfiguration Plan To Public; Board Votes To Implement

The St. James Parish School Board, during its meeting Tuesday, January 24th, unanimously approved the east and west bank student assignments pertaining to the Desegregation Order in the federal desegregation case originally filed in 1965 as Banks, et al & United States versus St. James Parish School Board, et al. The School Board held two public hearings last week, one on each side of the river, on the school reconfiguration plan.
