Roger Joseph Louque
Roger Joseph Louque, Sr. passed away on January 3, 2017 with his family by his side at the age of 86. He was born May 14th, 1930 in Grand Point, Louisiana to Irby and Louise Louque, Sr. and a life-long resident of Gramercy, Louisiana. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Cecile Brignac Louque of 66 years. He is also survived by six children, Roger J. Louque, Jr. (Susan), Gretchen LeBlanc (Terry), Todd Louque (Vickie), Stephen “Lukey” Louque (Kelly), Stephanie Bourgeois (Bobby), and Kristie Frederic (Tim); 16 grandchildren, Jennifer, Travis, Marcie, Erin, Amy, Adam, Alison, Matthew, Jeremy, Marty, Blake, Cory, Ryan, Lauren, Abbey, Emma and 24 greatgrandchildren and one on the way. Survived by his sister Verlin Simon. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Irby Louque, Jr. He was a graduate of Lutcher High School, an army veteran having proudly served in the Infantry 3rd Division Korean War, member of VFW Post 5852 serving as chaplain for 49 years, member of Lutcher Quarterback Club, retired from Shell Oil Company after 36 years of service, long-time Sacred Heart Church usher and a committed adorer for the Lutcher Chapel. He was a kind, loving, gentle man and devout Catholic who loved to garden, cook, walk his dog LuLu, and most of all whistle his favorite tunes. He most enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A visitation in his honor was held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA. A visitation resumed on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, Louisiana from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina, Louisiana.
