LABAT

Ronald "Prof" Labat, 84, a native and resident of Vacherie, LA, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

He is survived by his children, Michael Labat and wife Lisa, Lyndon Labat and wife Aelisha; grandchildren, Jordie Labat and wife Heather, Caine Labat, Gage Labat; g r eat - g randchi ldr en, Kallie Labat, Zack Labat, Bentley Labat; brother, Gary Labat.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Gravois Labat; parents, Willie Labat and Neva Labat; brother, Ramon Labat.

An alumni of Nicholls State University and University of South Louisiana, he devoted 33 years of his life to elementary education. He was also a member of the South Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church followed by burial in the church cemetery.
