The person, other than my mother, that I most admire is a former teacher who just died. At the time of her death she was 96. She was the epitome of all that I and many others would like to emulate. My teacher, Feliska Stewart Taylor, was fortunate. She was the seventh of eight children born to Issac and Amelia Stewart of Vacherie, LA. Her parents were farm hands who lived on a plantation; very representative of the mostly poor black Magnolia/Armant Plantation community.
