Judge Kliebert To Decide Whether Judge Jessie LeBlanc Can Proceed In Gravois Case

Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon filed a motion Monday requesting Judge Jessie LeBlanc to recuse herself from the state’s case against St. James Parish Director of Operations Blaise Gravois. A copy of the state’s motion was delivered to the Judge ten minutes before she was to begin a status conference in the Gravois case.

LeBlanc appeared incensed by the motion for recusal. “Is this a delay tactic, Mr. Long?” The Judge called it a dilatory tactic, a method used by a party in a lawsuit in an abusive manner to delay further proceedings. “I’m not pleased,” she said.
