Nassar To Invite Parish Officials To Prepare For Formosa Chemical

St. James Parish School Board President George Nassar repeated his opposition to a proposed tank farm in Vacherie and asked parish officials to join him in planning ahead for residential development in the Vacherie area. Nassar’s comments, made at the end of the regularly scheduled School Board meeting held Tuesday, April 24th, in Lutcher, came one day after Formosa Petrochemical Corp. announced the selection of St. James Parish as the site of a $9.4 billion chemical plant that will employ 1,200 permanent workers and create 8,000 indirect jobs
