School Board Finance Committee Hears Annual Audit Report

On Monday, January 22nd, Gerald Thibodeaux of the Lafayette accounting firm of Kolder, Champagne, Slaven & Company, LLC presented an independent auditor’s report of the St. James Parish School System to the members of the School Board’s Finance Committee.
According to Thibodeaux, the Board’s total liabilities exceeded total assets by $44,384,886; and the unrestricted portion of the net deficit at $(84,547,200).
