The Lutcher Lady Bulldog basketball team dropped a 41-26 decision to in-parish rival St. James in a non-district contest played last week. The Lady 'Cats used a second quarter scoring barage to secure bragging rights on who is the top team in the Parish for this season. Both teams tested each other in the opening period with St. James holding onto a low scoring 7-6 lead.

The Lady 'Cats stepped up defensive pressure in the second quarter and limited Lutcher to just two-points in the period. St. James poured in 14 points to take a 21-8 advantage at the break. The Lady 'Dogs managed to outgun St. James 8-6 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 27-16 heading into the fourth period, but the Lady 'Cats maintained their lead throughout the final quarter as they outscored Lutcher 14-10 to seal the 41-26 victory
