School Board Set To Hire One Company To Handle Custodial And Maintenance Services

If all goes according to plan, the St. James Parish School Board will soon hire one company to clean and maintain the entire school district.

Currently, the Board is contracted with one company for janitorial services and another for day-to-day maintenance.

Earlier this year, the School Board opted to hire a firm to do an independent and comprehensive audit of the District’s maintenance & operations and custodial contracts to see if the Board and District are getting the best “bang for their buck”.

Well, the audit was completed by the educational consulting firm Gibson, and the results of the “Gibson Report” was, to say the least, eye-opening.
