Alice Mae Bourgeois LeBlanc, a native of Paulina and a long-time resident of Lutcher, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 6:31 a.m., at St. James Parish Hospital. Alice was the loving wife of her late husband, Odom “Toot” LeBlanc. She was a devoted and loving mother to Barry (Caroline) LeBlanc and to Tammi (Brian) Falgoust. Alice is also survived by her grandchildren, who she adored so much, Brandi (Chris) Bourgeois and Kaci (Josh) Crowder. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Kole Bourgeois, Kori Bourgeois, Lawson Crowder, Cierra, Ellie, Holden, and Beckett LaCour, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was born to Eva and L. J. Bourgeois, Sr. on September 10, 1927. Besides her parents, Alice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Margie Pollet and L. J. Bourgeois, Jr. Alice enjoyed watching football games, (especially when she had football pools), her “stories”, and Lifetime movies. When the time came that she was no longer able to physically attend weekly mass, she began watching Sunday mass on television, followed by weekday masses in order to keep her faith strong. In addition, she prayed the rosary several times a day. She was truly a child of God, which was evident in her love of the Church. Alice also enjoyed meeting at the Senior Center in Romeville, as well as playing bingo. She spent most of her days talking on the phone to her friends and family, or sitting on her sun porch just “watching” the neighborhood. She had a personality that was immediately captivating, and once that bond was created, you were her friend for life. Visitation was held on Monday, October 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Following visitation, a mass of Christian burial was celebrated by Father Marse and Deacon Garland Roussel at 11:00 a.m. Entombment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina. ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA was in charge of the arrangements. To sign and view the family guestbook, please visit www.roselynnfuneralhome.com
