Last Friday night, the Comets traveled to Mississippi to take on the Wilkinson County Wildcats. After getting off to a slow start, the Comets were able to make enough plays on offense, defense, and special teams to win 20-0. It was another shutout for the Comet defense, which allowed them to advance to 3-0 on the season.

The Comets fumbled on their first possession giving the Wildcats good field position. The Comets defense stood their ground and forced the Wildcats to punt. A couple of drives later the Comets moved the ball down the field to score their first touchdown. Senior running back Narquez Jones rushed for 20 yards on the drive and scored a touchdown on a 5 yard run. Cameron Fabre added the PAT to give the Comets a 7-0 lead with 5:47 left in the second quarter.

The Comets got off to a great start in the second half when Joseph Chiarella returned the kickoff for an 87 yard touchdown. The Comets tried to convert a 2 point conversion, but failed. On the Comets next offensive drive, Philip Tran busted free for a 55 yard touchdown run. Fabre added the PAT giving the Comets a 20-0 lead with 5:50 left in the 3rd quarter.
