In Youth Sports, Fun Is Key

With the summer youth sports season coming to a close, millions of boys and girls across the country participated in sports camps, clinics and tournaments. These children and adolescents competed in a wide range of sports, from basketball and baseball to tennis, soccer, volleyball and gymnastics. But increasingly they will be playing only one sport, with the focus on organized competitions rather than skill development and play.
Youth participation in sports have opportunities to enhance self-esteem, socialize with peers and improve general health and fitness, setting the stage for an active adult lifestyle.
