St. James Parish 4-H Sends Members To L.O.S.T. Camp

This August, several teens from St. James 4-H traveled to Camp Grant Walker for L.O.S.T. Camp. L.O.S.T. Camp, which stands for Louisiana Outdoor, Science & Technology, gives youth the opportunity to excel in many areas, including Shooting Sports, Outdoor, Physics, Chemistry, and Forensics.

This camp fulfilled a demand for a longer camping experience and another opportunity for 7th through 8th graders. The Louisiana 4-H SET program seeks to improve science literacy in America’s youth through hands-on learning experiences.

The program’s longterm goal is to increase the number of students pursuing undergraduate degrees in science, engineering, and technology areas; thus increasing the number of young adults pursuing careers in these fields.
