John Trist Minvielle left his earthly life and is peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus, his creator, on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 12:53 a.m. at University Hospital in New Orleans, LA at age 54. John was born on January 2, 1963 in Lutcher, LA.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Gramercy, LA. As a child, John attended Gramercy Elementary School and served as an altar boy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He graduated from Lutcher High School and completed instrumentation program at Ascension Votech in Gonzales, LA. He furthered his education at the Baton Rouge School of Computers. John retired, after 13 years, from the Town of Gramercy as a Class 4 Water Treatment Operator certified in water treatment, production and distribution. Although John was never married, he was very compassionate in his service to others’ needs. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends and strangers.

Survived by Mother: Ruth Roussel Minvielle; Siblings & Spouses: Kim (Diedra), Jessica (Clarence), Rachel (Floyd), Charlene (Eric), Thomas (Carrie Anna); Aunts: Alice M. Elfer, Jeanette R. Dornier; Godchildren: Adam Richard, Michael Minvielle, Curtis Blank, Jr.; Numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by Father: Joseph T. Minvielle, Jr.; Maternal grandparents: Ella Boudreaux & Octave Roussel, Jr.; Paternal grandparents: Wilhelmena Kilburn & Joseph T. Minvielle, Sr.

All family and friends were invited to attend John’s visitation Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 616 Main Street-Highway 641, Gramercy, LA 70052. Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery on 2130 Rectory Street (off Highway 44), Paulina, LA. “We love you and will deeply miss you son, brother, uncle, friend till we meet again.” Pallbearers: Brad Richard, Michael Minvielle, Johnnis and Adam Richard, Ryan Alleman, Tyler and Mason Minvielle.
