Gramercy’s Mayor Steve Nosacka and the Board of Aldermen honored Lutcher High School student Alec Bland at its monthly meeting. Bland, the son of Robbie and Cathy Bland, is a junior who plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. “Alec has maintained a 3.6 GPA while balancing four sports year-round.
“In his own words, he says, ‘at times, this could be very stressful, but I know that if I work hard on-and-off the field, then it will work out good for me in the end’,” Nosacka said. Bland was part of the LHS’s 3A State Championship football teams in 2015 and 2016. “He is a back-to-back champion,” the Mayor additionally said.
