1967 LHS Baseball Team Reunites Fifty Years After Winning State Championship
By David Reynaud Editor
The 1967 Lutcher High School Bulldog baseball team reunited last Saturday to celebrate winning the State Championship 50-years ago. Nineteen players and managers, along with head coach Leroy Wescovich and McKay “The Voice” Roddy, attended the reunion held at the Public Relations building on Lutcher High’s campus.
The team enjoyed telling old stories and a meal before walking to the current LHS baseball field to watch the Bulldogs play Brusly. Before the start of the LHS vs. Brusly game, the team was introduced and Ernie Roussel had the honor of throwing out the game’s first pitch as his teammates huddled around the pitcher’s mound.
