PHILIPS

Joyce Oubre Philips, a homemaker, native and resident of Vacherie, LA., passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was 83 years old. She leaves to cherish her memories, four children; Rhoda Johnson, Kevin & Tracy Philips, and Simone (Gary) Davis; sister, Maxine O. Anderson and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Paul Martin Philips; parents, Walter, Sr. and Ollie Oubre; sisters Nelva and Ursline; brothers Walter, Jr., Paul Ergan, Floyd and Donald; and great grandson Zhane Elijah.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 13281 Hwy. 644, Vacherie, LA. Father Michael Micelli and Father Matthew McCaughey were celebrants. Interment was in church cemetery.
