Who Must Pay For Sand?

The recent flood event has left some hauling companies asking who will pay for the sand. St. James Parish Director of Operations Blaise Gravois told the St. James Parish Council Wednesday that during the recent flood event there were 179,100 sandbags filled at various stations throughout the parish. St. Charles Parish donated 20,000 sandbags and the Parish issued another 33,400 empty sandbags which residents filled themselves. He said a total of 80,000 sandbags were used for Hurricane Isaac.
