Jerome “Black Jesus” Franklin, a native of Lutcher, LA, departed this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 58. Son of the late Isaac, Sr. and Irene Lee Franklin. Wife of Hazel Franklin. Father of NyKisha and Jermeka Franklin, NyKosha (Telly) Bethancourt and Danielle Matthews. Brother of Mary Morris, George, Eddie and Freddie Franklin, Paula Mae (Larry) Jones, Catherine (Perry) Becnel, Angie Franklin and Elma Rae Bell. Survived by a host of step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by parents, Isaac, Sr. and Irene Lee Franklin and brothers, Walter Hansley, Isaac Franklin, Jr. and Lionel Franklin, Sr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a celebration of life to be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 for 11 a.m. at the First Community Antioch Baptist Church, 10860 Highway 3125, Lutcher, LA, Rev. Ferdinand Gaines, Jr., Officiating Pastor. Interment Antioch Cemetery, Paulina, LA. Visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the start of service.
