North Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department Needs Fire Fighters

The North Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department is looking for men and women to become active members, according to Department President Jacolby Octave. Of the 70 plus members on the roster, Octave said only about 40 can actually fight fires and respond to emergencies. While there are enough volunteers to make calls in the evening and on weekends, they could use much more help in the day when their members are at work or away from home.
