She was a member of the 3 Ells Club, the Catholic Daughters, the St. James Boat Club, Louisiana Homemakers of St. James Parish, and Sacred Heart Church and volunteered regularly at St. Vincent de Paul and other organizations throughout the parish. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, travelling to the mountains of Tennessee, spending time with her family, finding a good bargain, and cooking her favorite recipes. Her presence will be missed by many but her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. Violet is survived by her siblings, Velda Michel, Jean Davenport, and Richard Ordoyne (Jan), her children, Andrew Duhe (Paula), Adam Duhe (Lisa Carpenter), Alex Duhe (Susan), Ann “Sissy” Jeansonne (Glen), and Abby Guillot (Ted), her grandchildren, Dillan Duhe (Janean), Brandon Duhe, Sara Duhe, Ty Jeansonne, and Demi Jeansonne, and her great-grandchildren, Carter Duhe and Lindon Williams, Jr. (her “Sweetie Pie”). Her late husband, Claude “CJ” Duhe, parents Alton and Gracie Ordoyne, sister, Yvonne Cunningham, and brother Alton "Poochie" Ordoyne, Jr., were waiting to greet her after her passing. Memorial services were held on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church in Gramercy. Visitation began at 8:00 a.m. with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment was held at St. Joseph Mausoleum immediately following the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Rose Lynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
