Rita P. Zeringue

Rita P. Zeringue was born on October 26, 1929 and passed away on June 8, 2016 at the age of 86. She was a native of Convent and a resident of Gramercy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; a fine seamstress who sewed all the costumes for Gay-Lynn Dance Studio as well as many other projects. She is survived by her children: Joan Z. Murray, Harry “Sonny” Zeringue, Jr. (Hope), Jill M. Zeringue, and Kerry “K-Boy” Zeringue (Rhonda) as well as a sister, Margie P. Zeller and 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Zeringue, Sr., her son Ronald Joseph Zeringue; her parents Gaston Poche, Sr. and Julie W. Poche; her brothers Gaston “Junior” Poche, Jr., and Roger “Shot” Poche, her son-in-law Tom Murray and her grandson Tyler Murray. Family and friends were invited to attend visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, LA.
