Local Group Continues To StudyRoad; Suggest Highway 20 Spur

For many years, local residents and those who travel Hwy. 20 through Vacherie to Chackbay and Thibodaux have been concerned for their safety. In recent years the number of accidents has increased on the Bayou Chevreuil road through the wetlands and over the hump bridge. Several cars have plunged off the bridge into the roadside canal which was dug to provide the dirt foundation for the highway. Other cars have driven head-on into oncoming cars going in the opposite direction.
