Morris (Son) Keller, Jr., age 84, a native and resident of Vacherie, LA. passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jessie Mae Boudoin Keller; nine children: Debra Ann Keller of Laplace, LA, Joy (Leroy) Evans of Dover, Delaware, Darlene Keller of Sacramento, California, Dennis (Corliss) Keller, Stephanie Campbell, Stephan (Sylvia) Keller, Sr., Carl (Shavonne) Keller, Terry (Raymond) Gros, and Noreen Keller, all of Vacherie, LA. He also leaves to cherish his memories, brothers: Charles Keller, Sr., of Baton Rouge, LA and Larry (Gloria)Keller, Sr., of San Antonio, TX; sisters: Susie St. Juniors of New Orleans, LA, Dorothy (Wilbert) Roussel of Edgard, LA, Margaret Williams and Willa Mae Smith of Vacherie, LA; sisters in law: Geraldine Smith, Margaret Dumas and Louise Laurent; godchildren Clarence Byrd, Jr., and Troy Keller. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Byron Keller, great granddaughter, Destiny Dumas, parents; Morris and Catherine Keller, brother Clarence Byrd, Sr., sister Shirley Keller Daughtry and sons-in-law Clarence Dumas, Sr. and Johnnie Campbell, Jr., daughter in law Ariminta Keller. Morris was a proud Army veteran who served his country in the Korean War. He was an avid deer hunter and founding lifelong member of Westside Hunting Club. He also served as a member of the Good Children Society and American Legion for many years. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 13281 Hwy 644 in Vacherie, LA at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016, Father Joseph Sanjay, Celebrant. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial in the church mausoleum. Treasures of Life-Center for Life Funeral Services was entrusted with his final care. “When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a TREASURE!”
