Joseph John Canatella

Joseph John Canatella passed away on December 28, 2015. He was 87 years old, a native and resident of Convent, LA. Joseph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen Kliebert Canatella; his children: Michael J. Canatella and wife Lauran, Kathleen (Sue) Canatella Howard and husband Patrick, and Joseph J. Canatella, Jr. Papa is also survived by seven grandchildren;two step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; five step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Nicholas J. Canatella. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rose Russo Canatella; two brothers: B. J. (Sweet) Canatella, and John Canatella; three sisters: Marie Snow, Genevieve Rumore, and Rosemary Snow. He also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 6490 Hwy. 44, Convent, LA on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in St. Michael Mausoleum. Special thanks to his caregiver, Terry Benn, the nurses and staff of St. James Parish Hospital and St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate, loving care. A special thanks to our neighbors and close friends, Brian and Lori Taylor for all their help and support.
