Glenn Ray Madere, Sr. lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the age of 61 surrounded by his wife and children. He was a beloved and devoted husband of Cindy Nicholas Madere, and father of Glenn Madere, Jr. and wife Sharon Darnell-Madere of Gonzales, LA; Julie Madere Babin and husband Colin Jude Babin of Paulina, LA; brother of Charlean Madere Dooley and husband Clyde Dooley of Gramercy, LA; brother-in-law of Jerry Nicholas, Sr., and wife Joanne of LaPlace, LA and Kenneth Nicholas, Jr. and wife Margie of Pensacola, FL. He leaves behind 3 granddaughters: Emma Faith Madere, Kelsi Marie Babin, and Kylee Ann Babin as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Gerard Madere, Jr. and Marie May Matherne Madere of Gramercy, LA. Glenn worked at Shell Chemical in Norco, LA for more than 35 years as a machinist and then as a senior mechanical inspector before retiring from Shell E and P in New Orleans, LA. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Visitation was on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. Visitation resumed at the funeral home on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
