“The first time I thought about being a parish councilman was when I was in high school. When I was a sophomore I told my teacher that I wanted to join the military and I wanted to be a councilman.” Following his Marine father, after his junior year at St. James High, Eddie Kraemer of Vacherie signed up for the delayed entry program in the U. S. Marine Corp. He graduated on a Thursday and was on his way to basic training on Sunday
